How we Calculate Average Speeds

• We take the average of all speed tests across the island when calculating these averages.
• The ISP is determined from the IP address from which the speed test was conducted.
• Where an individual user makes multiple speed tests we will use only that user’s last test. This is to prevent one individual user from skewing the averages.
• An individual user is determined by unique IP address, Where multiple users conduct tests from the same IP address (in effect, the same location) this is counted as one user.
• Only Home Broadband speed tests are shown. Tests from Business addresses are removed although they may show on the league table for a short time.
• Only ISPs where more than 10 individual users have conducted speed tests are shown.
